my philosophy
Dance education should nurture both the artist and the person. My approach to teaching is rooted in the belief that strong technical training and a supportive environment can coexist—and that both are necessary for dancers to truly thrive.
In the studio, I emphasize clarity of technique, musicality, and thoughtful artistry. I believe dancers deserve honest, high-quality instruction that challenges them to grow while also meeting them where they are in their development. Progress happens when students feel safe to take risks, make mistakes, and keep working.
Equally important to me is the culture of the classroom. I strive to create an environment that values respect, work ethic, and curiosity. Dance can be demanding, but it should never diminish a dancer’s sense of self. My goal is for students to leave class not only stronger technically, but also more confident, resilient, and connected to the joy of movement.
Ultimately, I teach because I believe dance has the power to shape character as much as it shapes dancers. The discipline, creativity, and perseverance learned in the studio extend far beyond it—and helping young artists discover that is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.
